Analysis on Application of WAsP to Wind Energy Resource Assessment for Sige Wind Farm in Guizhou

Keeping in mind global-warming(e.g.the Kyoto Protocol),people are paying more attention to wind power for it is renewable without any pollution.Wind energy resource assessment is the key process of wind resource development,and also is the prerequisite and basis of wind farm construction.Currently,WAsP is widely used all over the world as a basic tool in wind energy resource assessment.As Guizhou is characterized by mountainous area,it is more difficult to apply WAsP to such a complex terrain than to a plain area.In view of the wind energy conditions in Guizhou,the application of WAsP to complex terrain is analyzed by taking a wind farm in Guizhou as an example.
