Stability Analysis of Cable-crane Platform Slope on Left Bank of Dagangshan Hydropower Station

Based on the characteristics of wedge cutting by various structural planes and free face on the left bank of Dagangshan Hydropower Station,this paper defines three wedge types,namely deterministic wedge,semi-deterministic wedge and random wedge,to analyze possible failure modes.Besides,calculation method for wedge stability is used to evaluate the stability of different wedge types under three working conditions involving normal condition,half water-saturated condition and earthquake condition before and after reinforcement.Finally,sensitivity analysis of factors influencing the slope stability is performed.The study shows that the cable-crane platform slope on the left bank is stable as a whole.However,joint fissure J3 has a controlling effect on local stability.As the safety factor of the wedge cutting by joint fissure J3 and J4 in front and upstream face is less than one,reinforcement should be provided in time.On the other hand,other wedges have a high safety factor before and after reinforcement.
