STUDIES ON SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPE AND THE FUNCTION OF THE PELAGE OF MOSCHUS

CHENG Binggong OUYANG Liwen BI Shuzeng YAN Luhun LI Guijan LT Guijan
observation on the pelage of Moschus by Scanning Electron Microscop. The pelage of Moschus is composed of long needle hair and short needle hair,no fine hair. The cortex and medulia of long needle hair is separated many air room by many dense mediastinum and herizontal diaphragm. The air room passes through the hair staff. The hair cuticle is rhombas. The medulla of short needle hair is air room, hut cortex is dense cutin. The hair cutidle is flat. The air room is full of the hair staff. So the pelage layer of Moschus has heat preservation function which may keep the temperature of body surface.
