Gao Jun;School of Literature, Shaanxi Nornal University;
Mencius is a classic of Chinese culture, eulogized all long. However, there was no punctuation in ancient books, which caused differences of punctuation in the popular versions. Among the rearranged versions, Translation and Annotation of Mencius edited by Yang Bojun and Notes and Commentaries of Mencius attached to the Thirteen Classics edited by Li Xueqin are highly evaluated, which are rearranged by Liao Mingchun and Liu Youping and approved by Qian Xun. There are differences in the above two versions, so solving punctuation problems is of great significance to the explanation of word meaning, spreading the classic and inheriting culture.
