Cultural Connotation Contrast and Translation of Animal Names in English and Chinese

LIU Hong-yi (Foreign Languages Dept. of Huaihua University,Huaihua,Hunan 418008)  
There are many animal names used as metaphors in both English and Chinese. How to decode the cultural connotation of animal names apart from their literal meaning and using corresponding techniques in translation practice is a topic worth studying.
