Relative Movement Between Line of Sight and Light Axis of Imaging Seeker

Angular velocity output by the seeker is the most important guidance information, which was caused by the movement of line-of-sight in the inertial space. From the aspect of kinematics, the movement of line-of-sight in the inertial space was decomposed into the movement of line-of-sight relative to the light axis of the seeker and the movement of the light axis in the inertial space. Based on the theory of rigid body turning around a fixed point, angular velocity and its component perpendicular to the line-of-sight were analyzed, which were caused by the movement of line-of-sight relative to the light axis when the target was moving in the field of sight of the seeker. And calculation formulas were obtained. It was test by numerical simulations. It is shown that component of the angular velocity perpendicular to the line-of-sight is able to be precisely resolved by the errors provided by the infrared imaging seeker.
