The Catalytic Activity and Gas Sensitivity of Rare Earth Element Modified Tin Dioxide Film

Modified tin dioxide film(LnOx/SaO2)is prepared by using tke rear earth nitrate soaked tin dioxide and followede by the burning at [500℃. The X-Ray Diffraction analysis of this prepared film shows that the rare earth element cannot be found in the lattice of tin dioxide. The catalytic activity of modified tin dioxide film is varied with different doped rare earth elements like La, Ce, Pr, Nd and Sm. Correlation between the catalytic activity change and the varied stable resistance, Ro, in clean air under 250 ℃ is found. Better correlation is found with the stable resistance, Rg, in 500 ppm ethanol-air mixture under 500℃.
