Development of Crown Ether-based PVC Membrane Lithium Ion-Selective Electrode

Some derivatives of benzo-crown ether are synthesized for the construction of titled lithium selective electrode. Different solvents are used for the improvement of operation features. The tested results show that the electrode consisting 3'-(noctyl-methoxy)-benzo-12-crown-4 and tributyl phosphate has the better behaviors. The linear range of this :electrode is around 1.0×10-4 to 1.0× 10-1mol/L and the mean slope is 68.4mV/decade (18℃). It shows the ideal selectivity to alkali and alkali earth metal elements and the selectivity coefficient for Na+ is 8.9×10-4.
