Analysis of the Characteristics of Doppler Radar Data of a Large-Ranged Rainfall in the West-Central of Zhejiang Province

Doppler weather radar data and weather graph of a large-ranged rainfall on 6 July 2006 in the west-central of Zhejiang Province are analyzed, and the characteristics of Doppler weather radar products during this large-ranged rainfall case. The results suggest that VWP and VPPI have obvious distinction during different period of rainfall, and it can be reflected directly the conditions of convergence, divergence and vertical velocity in all layers during this case using products of vertical velocity calculated by EVAD and variational method. And based on it, the mechanism of occurrence, development, persistence and collapse of large-ranged rainfall in Zhejiang province is discussed
