Decolorization Effects of Microbes and Ferrous Iron on Dyeing Wastewater

In order to increase the decolorization rate of dyeing wastewater under the effect of ferrous iron,and accordingly reduce the sludge treatment cost, it was proposed to adopt coprecipitation treatment by using microbes and ferrous iron to deal with dyeing wastewater. Such treatment was used to study the decolorization effect and specific reaction conditions in artificial X3-B red active dyeing wastewater. The results showed that:(1)microbes addition could obviously improve the decolorization rate of ferrous iron;(2) under the condition that p H value was 9, microbial concentration 400 mg/L, dye concentration 8 mg/L, and ferrous iron concentration within the range of 10-180 mg/L, the decolorization rate rose from-32.86% to 85.51% with the increase in ferrous iron concentration;(3) under the condition that pH value was 9, microbial concentration 400 mg/L, ferrous iron concentration 180 mg/L, and dye concentration 0-36 mg/L, the decolorization rate increased with the addition of dye concentration, rising from 72.68% to 97.88%. The current results are expected to provide a theoretical reference for the development of decolorization treatment technology for printing and dyeing wastewater.
