Determination of Serine in Rat Uterus by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)

It is believed that 92% of phosphorylation takes place at Serine residues of the protein molecule. The free Serine content of rat uterus in different phases of the estrus was determined by HPLC. It was demonstrated that the serine content varied at different phases, with highest content at the proestrus phase. The possibility that serine content varies with the functional status of the uterus of rat exists, the significance of which awaits further clarification.
