PATHWAY AND PROCESS SIMULATION OF HYDROCARBON MIGRATION AND ACCUMULATION

WEN Zhen he,HAO Xian feng (Qingdao Institute of Marine Geology,CGS,Qingdao 266071,China)
Pathway of hydrocarbon migration and accumulation is controlled by sealing surface, sandstone distribution and lateral change of porous layer. It is favorable for hydrocarbon accumulation that the trap is located on a focus pathway connected to area of hydrocarbon generation.Based on structural deformation, hydrocarbon generation and expulsion simulation,we can rebuild the three dimensional shape of sealing surface in the period of geological history in virtue of computer, analyze and recognize pathway of migration, simulate direction and intensity of hydrocarbon migration in different periods, calculate accumulation quantity of traps, and indicate favorable region. It is useful to guide oil exploration. The simulation technology applied to the beach of Liaohe Oilfield, shows that exploration results well tally with simulation.
