THE ENRICHMENT OF TRACE ANILINE IN SEAWATER WITH POLYMERIC MICROBEADS GDX-502 AND ITS GAS CHROMATOGRAPHIC DETERMINATION

In this paper, a rapid and precise determination of aniline in seawater by gas chromato-graphy is reported. The aniline in seawater can be isolated by absorption on a small column of GDX-502 resin. The organics are readily eluted by CH2CI2; the eluate is then concentrated by K. D. concentrator, and the organics are separated and determined by gas chromatography. The influences of several parameters, including eluting agent quantity, pH, flow rate, and different concentrations of aniline etc. upon recoveries of the resin were studied. Studies on a large number of model compounds added to water in 2-20μg/L range demonstrated that this method is accurate and reliable. The recovery of aniline in some water samples was found to be 98.6-100.2%.
