Exchange-coupling Interaction in Nanostructured Two-phase Permanent Ferrites

Nanocomposite SrFe 12 O 19 / γ Fe 2O 3 permanent ferrites have been prepared by the sol gel method and their structure and magnetic properties have been analyzed by X ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscope (TEM), and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). When thermal treatment temperature is below 800℃, the samples pressed into a flake exhibit exchange coupling interaction between the two nanostructured phases of γ Fe 2O 3 and SrFe 12 O 19 . The exchange coupling interaction and the enhancement of isotropic (BH ) Max in nanocomposite SrFe 12 O 19 / γ Fe 2O 3 permanent ferrites have been discussed.
