Humerus retrograde interlocking intramedullary nails in treatment of humeral shaft fracture

Objective To observe the effectiveness of retrograde interlocking intramedullary nails in the treatment of humeral shaft fracture.Methods The humerus retrograde interlocking intramedullary nails were used to treat 26 cases of humeral shaft fractures,including 15 males and 11 females with age ranging from 19 to 56 years(mean 32 years).Results The fracture was fixed satisfactorily,and no radial nerve injury occurred.Conclusion The use of retrograde interlocking intramedullary nails in treatment of humeral shaft fractures can effectively avoid the iatrogenic radial nerve injury,and is worth popularizing.
