Effect of subcutaneous injection of autologous bone marrow for ulna fracture healing

Objective To observe the effect of autologous bone marrow injection for ulna fracture union at different time points,and explore the opportunity to perform auto-bone marrow injection in preventing bone non-union.Methods Two hundred patients with ulna fracture were subjected to plate internal fixation,and randomly divided into control group(n=40) and experimental group(n=160).The patients in the experimental group were subdivided into four subgroups(groups A,B,C and D),and auto-bone marrow was subcutaneously injected on the postoperative month 0.5,1,2,and 3,respectively.Results Six months after internal fixation,bone union rate had no significant difference between subgroup A and subgroup B(P0.05),and that in subgroups A and B was higher in other groups(P0.05).The bone union rate had no significant difference between subgroups C and D with control group(P0.05).Conclusion To prevent bone non-union,autologous bone marrow can be subcutaneously injected as early as possible after internal fixation.
