ANESTHETIC EFFECTS OF DIAZEPAM AND THIOPENTAL SODIUM ON EQUINE AND CATTLE

This study was to examine the cooperant anesthetic effects of diazepam and thiopental sodium on equine and cattle. When using diazepam intramuscularly at 0.3 mg/kg of body weight and thiopental sodium intravenously at 5 mg/kg of body weight, the equine could be anesthetized for 20-90 minutes. The cattle were anesthetized for 40-60 minutes after using diazepam intramuscularly at 0.3 mg/kg and thiopental sodium intravenously at 5-8 mg/kg. During anesthetic period, surgical procedure could be done satisfactorily.
