Biomarker assemblage of boghead in Shuicheng, western Guizhou

The aliphatic fraction of Shuicheng boghead is characterized by the mixed source inputs of microbes and higher plants. The products of microbial source inputs, i. e. C21- n-alkanes. tricyclic terpanes, steranes, single-methyl branched alkanes, isoprenoid alkanes except phytane series, drimane series, tetracyclic terpanes and hopane type of triterpanes, amount to 52.4% of the aliphatic fraction, while hydrocarbons of higher plant source input, including C22+ alkanes and some sesquiterpenoids, account for 32.2%. In addition, the phytane series of photoautotrophic chlorophyll source input just make up 7.0% of the fraction.
