Simulating experiments for the deformation and microstructures of granite in the central part of the Jiangnan Belt, South China

The simulating experiments of deformation for fresh granite samples from central part of the Jiangnan Belt under a Three Axes Stress Experimental Machine are reported, by which plenty of deformed microstructures from brittle to ductile corresponding to different temperatures and pressures have been obtained. Experiments suggest that additives of fluid (NaCl saturated solution) and setting shear plane for a sample before experiment can lower the temperature and wall pressure and shorten the experimental time from undeformation to mylonitizition. The experimental results provide some important evidence for origin mechanism and formation conditions of natural mylonitic granite.
