Rethinking Time Management of Online Instruction:Flexible or Strict?

Contrasting to face to face instruction,online instruction's time management is quite flexible and the learners take main responsibility to control their own learning time.Confronting with the facts that most learners' weak self-control ability,delayed communication feedback,and uncontrolled facilitators′ workload,it is time for us to rethink current time management.This paper introduced a successful online facilitating case.It had very strict time management principles and gained excellent results.Based on the case study,this paper argued that "strict" time management will help educators to enhance learners′ involvement,discussion effectiveness and facilitators' management.The supporting conditions to implement "strict" time management were also discussed.
