The Analysis and Development of an Automatic Speaker Verification System

This paper presents a real time and efficient automatic speaker verification system, specially analyses the verification mechanism, briefly elucidates other main problems in verification.The leading features of this system are as follows, The pitch, formant 2, formant 3 and their timing characteristics are chosen as the system parameters, which are well able to reflect the speaher's characteristics and ensure the verification's correctness rate. A high speed TMS320C25 DSP chip is used to forming a speech processing card, which carries out a large amount of computations guickly. This card is put in the IBM PC microcomputer, so that the user can effectively supervise it by a friendly man-machine interface.This system has been developed. A preliminary test shows that it is satisfactory.
