Numerical simulation of severe downslope windstorm and its high-level turbulent zone

In order to study the radical characters of downslope windstorm and the associated high-level turbulent zone,a full-elastic severe windstorm numerical model with the effects of topography was developed to simulate a severe downslope windstorm at Boulder in America on 11 January 1972.The results indicate that wind field and potential temperature field accord with the observations mostly,and in addition the extension and the height of the associated high-level turbulent zone inducing aircraft turbulence can be simulated.
