Microwave Excitation Technique for Gas Lasers

Pan Chengzhi (Beijing Vacuum Electronics Research Institute, Beijing 100016)  
Microwave excitation technique, as a kind of excellent technique for exciting gas lasers, has been used succesfully for various pulsed and continueous gas lasers with glow discharge, including atomic, molecular and excimer lasers, and has come into practical stage. The present advance of microwave excited gas lasers is reviewed in this paper. It is necessary to study this technique as soon aspossible.
