Photonic Techniques for the Antennas Application

In recent years there has been a growing interest in applying the photonic technology to radar, antennas and microwave measurement. In this paper we introduce the developments on microwave signal distribution with optical fiber, microwave phase shifter by optical heterodyne and photonic real time delay steering system for phased array antennas. The principles, features and potential applications of these techniques were analyzed in detail.
