Design of Astigmatic Lens with Compensating Optical Aberra tion

We analyzed coma and astigmatism aberration cause d by optical flat plate which is common used in optical pickup systems. According the result we got, we designed an cylindrical lens which can not only help to ge nerate focusing error signal but also compensate the optical aberration mentione d above. Tested and verified in practical optical pickup head, this lens can ful fill the requirement of digital versatile disk pickup systems.
