The Laser Scattering Properties of the Ship Wakes

Based on the Mie scattering theory, the bubble scattering intensity on different seattering direction is calculated using fortran program and the scattering properties on one cross section of the ship wakes are gained under the condition that the bubbles are not relevant to each other. The results indicate that the back scattering enhancement by bubbles is very clear, and the bubble scattering intensity on the midline of one cross section of the ship wakes is much greater than that on the fringe of the wakes. The feasibility of the light wake homing torpedo by using the difference of the scattering intensity between bubbles in ship wake and those in the surrounding sea is testified.
