Analysis on Rate Equations and Light Propagation Equations of Ytterbium-doped Fiber Amplifiers

Based on analyzing rate equations and light propagation equations of ytterbiumdoped fiber amplifiers in this paper,analytical solutions have been derived for these equations under the condition of the steadystate.The pump threshold expression and the optimum fiber length expression of a small signal are also deduced.Using numerical simulations,gain、pump threshold power and the optimum fiber length of the amplifiers have been analyzed and discussed.
