Research of rail profile detection technology based on laser sensor

As traditional mechanical measurement for rail profile has the characteristics of low precision,poor reliability,low efficiency,and so on,a detection technique of rail profile based on laser sensor was proposed. From the actual demand,the automatic-online detection of rail profile was achieved through the data filtering,coordinate transformation,fitting matching,error detection and other methods. Experiments show that the precision of the detection technology can reach 0. 03 mm,which can meet the requirement of rail profile detection on the railway.
