Based on measurement of production segmentation, and by deconstructing GVC into domestic and international value chains, also by distinguishing manufacturing and service function, this paper mainly discusses the impact and mechanism of GVC on service trade. Through empirical analysis,it generally confirmed a positive influence of GVC on service trade. While in face of reverse globalization after global financial crisis, influence of GVC even strengthened.Further study shows that due to excessive embeddedness in manufacturing within GVC,there existed an apparent and negative influence of GVC on developing countries. As for mechanism behind,it confirms that the impact of domestic or international value chain is not substitute to each other, but complementary; compared with domestic value chain, expansion of international value chain promoted growth of service trade directly, especially expansion of service-linked international value chain.
