Effects of Composition on Spectroscopic Properties of Er~(3+)-doped Na_2O-Al_2O_3-SiO_2 Glasses

The effects of Na 2O contents on spectroscopic properties of Er 3+-doped Na 2O-Al 2O 3-SiO 2 glasses were studied in this paper. The Ω t parameters, radiative transition probability, and radiative lifetime of the Er 3+-doped sodium aluminosilicate glasses were calculated by the Judd-Ofelt (J-O) theory and absorption spectra. Then the relationship between Ω t parameters and Na 2O contents, and the effect of Na 2O contents on absorrption cross section, and the spontaneous emission probability of the 4I 13/2 level of Er 3+, and the full width at half maximum(FWHM) of 1.53 μm were analysed.
