Mental Health Status of University Teachers and Its Influencing Factors

Objective To investigate present situation of mental health of university teachers in Shanxi,and its relationship with money attitude and subject well-being.Methods A total of 221 university teachers were investigated by subject money attitude questionnaire and Well-being Scale and Mental Health scale.Results ①The average level of mental health was 1.55,which showed that the mental health of university teachers was good on the whole.②Every demographic variable had no significant difference.③Money attitude,power desire factor,anxiety and distrust had very significant positive correlation with mental health.④Both the general well-being and negative emotion of the subjects tested was highly negatively related to mental health,and the positive emotion of the subjects tested was highly positively related to mental health.Conclusion Every demographic variable tested has little influence on mental health.And both money attitude and subjective well-being of the subjects have highly influence on mental health.The higher score in money attitude and power desire factor and anxiety and distrust indicate bad mental health.The mental health increase in those with higher SWB.
