Effect of Crystallization Conditions on Morphologh and Mechanical Properties of Polypropylene-Polyisobutylene Blends

Morphology and mechanical properties of polypropylene-polyisobutylene blends crystallized under different conditions were investigated and the influence of crystallization conditions and the composition of blends owere discussed. Compared with the specimen quenched in cold water, isothermal crystallized blends show a higher crystallinity, thicker lamalla and higher values of tensile strength and Young's modulus, and less toughness. The crystallinity and mechanical properties of polypropylene are decreased and poor respectively due to the addition of polyisobutylene.
