Structure and Properties of Nanostructured Y TZP(ZrO _2) and Y TZP Alumina (ZrO_2(Y) Al_2O_3) Powders before and after Being Low temperature Annealed

The structure and properties of nanostructured Y TZP(ZrO 2) and Y TZP alumina (ZrO 2(Y) Al 2O 3) powders, which were obtained by plasma chemistry method, before and after being low temperature annealed were investigated The results show that after being baked the powders prepared by this method show excellent agglomeration and the agglomerate can reach up to 1~2 μm in size, and the size of the crystal particles in the agglomerate is very small (only about 25~35 nm) Annealed below 1 200 ℃ the X ray diffraction pattern of the Y TZP alumina powder showed no peak of alumina(Al 2O 3 ). The structures of the main phase of both the systems are practically identical, and after being annealed below 1 200 ℃, the microstrain of the lattice in the ZrO 2(Y) system is much bigger than that of the lattice in the Y TZP alumina (ZrO 2(Y) Al 2O 3) system. The powder with the D size 10~15 nm showed no microstrain of its lattice.
