A New Apparatus for Measuring Laser Linewidth

This paper presents a new apparatus for measuring the laser linewidth or frequency stability with only one laser system. The principle is to make use of the slope of a wait of the transmission peak of a stable passive cavity by converting the disturbance of laser frequency to that of voltage. With this new developed apparatus,we have measured the linewidth and frequency stability of our home made CW ring dye laser.
