Characteristics of the Ultrasonic Doppler Spectrum Signal in Flow Measurement and Their Relations with Pipe Flow Velocities

The authors have studied the characteristics of ultrasonic Doppler spectrum signal in the industrial flow measurement. The influences on the Doppler spectrum due to the different installation arrangements in the pipe have been analyzed.As a result, both the flow calculating formulas and necessary corrections under various measuring conditions have been found, and then it becomes possible to improve the accuracy of flow measurements based on the Doppler spectrum.
