A Meta-analysis of Self-directed Learning Tendencies of Middle School Students

This paper systematically analyzed and evaluated the self-oriented learning tendency of middle school students published in 2013-2018 with the Chinese version of SRSSDL scale as the measurement tool. Meta analysis included 7 relevant literatures. After analysis with STATA software,the study found that self-directed learning of middle school students presented the following characteristics: Overall good situation and high self-consciousness. The gender difference was significant,and the negative learning tendency of boys was higher than that of girls,but the difference was not significant. Middle school girls are superior to boys in initiative learning,effective learning,love learning,open learning and lifelong learning.
