Stefan Zweig's Biographical View

YANG Rong(Southwest University of Nationalities,Chengdu,Sichuan,610041,China)
Zweig's education and the influences imposed on him have formed his own thoughts on biographic literature, which can be seen in the forewords, prefaces and other texts.According to him, history should be the one of human progress and civilization, rather than that of nationalities and wars.History is decided by an instant and triumph by particulars. His protagonists always are those who are tragically defeated but stay graceful and noble in spirit. He proposes that writers leave a question open with the materials, and go all out for conciseness during his composing.
