Nanchang City has abundant tourism resources, and its tourism industry is making increasing contribution to the local economy. An urgent issue is how to promote coordinated development between Nanchang's tourism industry and the regional economy. This article analyzed the coupling coordination degree of Nanchang's tourism industry and the development of the local economy with a coupling coordination Model as well as the elements that hinder the development. The results show that both the tourism industry and the regional economy are both improving in comprehensive development, and the coupling degree C of the two industries is maintained at a high level. The two comprehensive development levels are continuously and steadily increasing, and the coupling degree D is optimized year by year. Coupling coordination level is upgraded from reluctant coordination to quality coordinated development.Lastly, suggestions were proposed in accordance with the analysis results in order to realize the coordinated development of Nanchang's tourism industry and the local economy, thereby accelerating the city's overall economy.
