Turbulent Drag Reduction Characteristics of Surfactant Solution in Irregular Tubing Units

The drag reduction characteristics of 800ppm CTAC/NaSal solution at room temperature in some irregular piping units have been studied experimentally.The results indicated that the drag-reducing effect of CTAC/NaSal solution was reduced in various degrees in the irregular piping units comparing to that in the straight pipe.And the factors influencing the drag reducing effect of CTAC/NaSal in the irregular piping unit included the value of local resistance coefficient and the unit structure except for all factors influencing drag-reducing effect in the straight pipe.
