Withstanding Mechanical Degradation of the Polyacrylamide Solution in Copper Tube

The drag-reducing characteristics of polyacrylamide(PAM) solution in copper pipe have been investigated experimentally in this paper.The experimental results show that the maximum drag reduction percentage changes with the different fluid temperature and concentration.Based on the common flow state of water distribution system in HVAC,an experiment-table is designed and set up to study the characteristics of withstanding mechanical degradation of PAM solution.The paper provides an useful reference for applying PAM to practical projects,which can reduce the pump power.
