On the Turbine Modification from Condensing Steam Type to Back-pressure Steam Type

This paper introduces one turbine modification case and energy saving benefits of the modification is analysed.Based on the engineering experiences and running practices,two key points related with the modification of extraction-condensing steam turbine to small steam exitting,extraction-back-pressure steam one are emphasized.One is that the structure of steam flow channel should be re-designed and adjusted;the other is that it is not feasible for the turbine of direct modification from condensing steam type to back-pressure type without adjustment of steam flow structural channel to run on the back-pressure conditions.
