As a social ideological trend which is different from the mode of thinking in modern society, postmodernism provides a new approach to the study of teachers' roles. In the view of postmodernism, there are many shortcomings in the role of teachers under the guidance of the concept of modern education, such as the unrealistic educational aim, emphasizing the empiricism of knowledge,teacher-centered teaching and the indifferent teacher-student relationship. Therefore,in order to change this situation, teachers should reshape the concept of education, establish a people-oriented view of students, remodel self-authority,mould authority images accepted by students, change the concept of traditional teaching, try to be the facilitator in the process of teaching. Hereby,in the perspective of postmodernism, the reconstruction of teachers 'roles can be achieved by remodeling educational concept and teacher's authority, improving teachers' teaching ability and teacher-student relationship.
