3D finite element analysis on crankshaft fatigue life-span

With the numerous factors that affect crankshaft fatigue life-span and its difficulty of accurate estimation, a power device assembled by a certain type of diesel engine is taken as original model. The dynamic stress of crankshaft is calculated by 3D finite element mode analysis. The fatigue life-span of crankshaft is analyzed by dynamic stress load spectrum. The experiment compares the crankshaft life-span under different cases and shows that the relative value is very stable.
