Numerical simulation for bearing performance of uniform-section pile under uplift loading

Numerical simulation of finite element for pile under uplift loading is done by axisymmetric model. The bearing performance of pile is studied, including uplifting displacement, load transfer, and development of side resistance. The strain of soil near the edge of pile and distribution of displacement field are studied. It is found that two areas occurs near the edge of pile in shear strain and its reverse direction and shear band comes into being when uplifting load is up to limit, and the shape distribution of displacement field becomes inverse cone gradually.
