Calculation of maximum delay in switched industrial Ethernet with improved WRR policy

To satisfy the different requirements for different real-time data in switched industrial Ethernet, the Weighted Round Ring (WRR) policy with a per-priority queue is introduced into switches. Network calculus is used to derive the maximum waiting delay boundary for different data under the policy, and the formula is obtained, which is compared with strict priority algorithm. The advantages of applying the improved WRR policy into industrial Ethernet is presented.
