Numerical simulation on aerodynamic noise of power collection equipment for high-speed trains

As to the issues that the aerodynamic noise produced by the power collection equipment of high-speed trains becomes significant as the speed increase of railway,a current-guide cover is introduced into the power collection equipment,and the flow field and the aerodynamic noise of the power collection equipment are numerically simulated and analyzed using FLUENT. The flow field is calculated by the steady-state Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS) method and the boundary layer noise source model is selected for the acoustic model. The computational results indicate that the design of the current-guide cover is very important. A good design can make it well lead the airflow and decrease the aerodynamic noise produced by the power collection equipment.
