Analysis on contact of wheel and high speed turnout wing rail

To design turnout rationally and get the better match between wheelset and turnout profile,finite element method is applied to solve the contact problem between the wheel and high speed turnout wing rail.The finite element models of four different profile wheel contact with high speed turnout wing rail are built to analyze the varying rules of contact patch and equivalent stress when the wheel is passing the high speed turnout wing rail.The calculation results show that the contact patch location of locomotive wheel and wing rail appears at the outside of wing rail top,and that of the motor car appears at the center of wing rail top;the stress concentration tends to take place when the worn JM3 wheel contacts with wing rail,especially at the place of 50 cm away from the nose rail tip;the equivalent stress is the highest one when worn JM3 wheel contacts with wing rail.
