Strength check and dynamics analysis on large-scale gasinsulated switchgear equipment based on ANSA and Abaqus

To ensure the reliability of Gas-Insulated Switchgear( GIS) equipment under the severe environment,a finite element model is built for a GIS device by Solid Works and ANSA,and the strength check and dynamics analysis are performed by Abaqus. The structure response is calculated under the effect of temperature and gas pressure. In the dynamics analysis,the modal analysis is firstly performed and then the structure response is separately calculated by time-history analysis and response spectrum analysis under the earthquake of magnitude 8 and the results are compared. The calculation results show that,the safety factors of three way pipe and four way pipe are lower,which should be improved; the results of response spectrum analysis and time-history analysis are almost the same,which indicate that the GIS device is safe and reliable under the effect of earthquake stress.
