Simulation on improvement of counter blockade ammunition warhead based on wave-shaper

To reduce the shaped charge mass and the collateral damage of the shell fragments of a 3 m penetration counter blockade anmmunition warhead,a wave-shaper is put into the shaped charge. The effect of the different bottom diameters,different heights and different taper angles of the wave-shaper on the shaped charge jet head velocity and shell fragment velocity is studied by simulation using ANSYS / LSDYNA,and the relation curves of the shaped charge jet head velocity and shell fragment velocity with bottom diameter,height and taper angle is obtained. The optimum design dimensions of the wave-shaper is that the bottom diameter is 0. 55 times of the charge diameter,the height is 0. 375 times of the bottom diameter,and the taper angle is 30°. When the optimum design dimensions are adopted and the penetration performance of shaped charge jet is not reduced,the shaped charge mass decreases by 6. 8%( 0. 73 kg) and the shell fragment velocity decreases by 12. 5% and its collateral damage is reduced.
