Application of simulation-physical combined developmental test on design of reaction sphere

As to the new three-axis attitude control reaction sphere of a micro / nano satellite,the force /displacement loading method and structure strength and performance are analyzed and verified by simulation-physical combined developmental test method. The simulation results indicate that,some design vulnerable spots are at the outer cusp of contact zone between locking arm and rotation ball,and the middle area of opposite surface of the locking arm toward the contact zone. The first order frequency is 206. 9 Hz,which is obtained by physical test and basically consistent with the simulation result,and the output torque of the reaction sphere is tested as 0. 02 N·m approximately. Some improvement design suggestions are proposed.
